Kerta Gos

The first object visited is Kerta Gosa , a building (Bale) who is part of the palace complex Semarapura and has built around the year 1686 by the first king of Klungkung is Ida I Dewa Agung Jambe. The uniqueness of the building in Kerta Gosa is on the surface ceiling or ceiling bale decorated with traditional painting style of Kamasan (a village in Klungkung), which is very popular in Bali. The paintings are a series of stories that take a principal theme parwa (chapter in the book of Mahabharata) is Swargarokanaparwa and Bima Swarga that give clues about the punishment karma phala (result of the merits of human deeds done during life) and reincarnation back to earth because the deeds and the sins of mankind.
